Taxidermy is the art of mounting dead animals for display or for other sources of study. Taxidermy can be done on all species of animals including humans. The organs and blood are removed and replaced with preservative substances.
Taxidermy caricature work was popularized in the Victorian era. The taxidermic art of North America commonly consists of occupation/character specific, humorously posed rodents.
